Harry Potter night!

On Friday Room 7 had a Harry Potter themed quiz night! Where you had to dress up as your favourite character, I dressed up as Bellatrix. There was also a best dressed competition and a candlelight supper. We all had to bring something to share and I brought a plate of Hogwarts muffins. At 6:20 we left to pick up Victoria then we went straight to Trinity hall. First Victoria and I had a walk around then we got put into groups for the quiz we were both put into nearly headless nick. I thought we did pretty good. After a while we found out we lost. :( After Dad came to pick up Victoria and I. Once we droped off Victoria we went home and I thought it was a cooleo night!!!

Current Events Week 10 Christchurch Quake.

In Christchurch on Saturday morning at 4:00 there was a big earth quake. It was as big as the Hati earthquake! But nobody died & I think that's a miracle! Schools are closed & people have to go to the toilet outside & their parents have to boil water before they drink it. My Sister & her friend were upstairs & they said they felt it & got scared. My Dad said he heard the house crack. But I slept right through it. Buildings have been crashed & on the Ritcher scale it was 7.1. people have been having to sleep in a high school where nice people and the Salvation Army are having fun by setting up board games & other stuff like that & the Salvation Army is dishing up food. I think it is very nice & caring. I hope it gets better.

J.K. Rowling speech

There are a lot of famous authors in the world but today I'm going to talk about one I admire, her name is Joanne Rowling. Joanne has written several books but the most known is the Harry Potter series because they are adventurous, exciting, mysterious and intriguing. Joanne got the idea of Harry Potter while on a train, she says it just popped into her head. Joanne has not only written Harry Potter. She has also written 'Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them' and 'Beedle in the Bard' which are also intiguing. Joanne is 45 yrs old and was born on the 31st of July 1965. Joanne Rowling is a woman who is a great author and has an imaginative mind which brings joy to children's imaginations.

Totara Trading

On the 20/8/10 Totara syndicate had Totara trading. First I went to Lauren, Aimee and Bianca's stool, they were selling cupcakes and mystery envelopes. I bought a cupcake and a mystery envelope. Then I just had a look around I also bought, a brownie, 2 packs of stickers, a balloon full of flour thing, a soda stream drink (Cola) and a bag of popcorn. To start off I had $195 Totara and now I'm left with $151 Totara. I thought I had spent more but I didn't! So I'm happy about that! :) It was the best trading day ever!!!!:)

Bilbo Meets Smaug The Dragon

Once there was a hobit called Bilbo and he was on a walk to the park but then he came to a sudden stop. "Wow! Thats such a cool cave!" Bilbo had spotted a big cave. " Hmmm... i wonder whats inside!" Bilbo waddled into the cave. Then his heart stoppted beating for a few seconds. "Arhhh!! A dragon! Help!" Bilbo saw a dragon! With big house sized teeth and razer sharp claws. Bilbo ran away as fast as he could. "Help! Help! A dragons after me!" Bibo caught up with his friends. "Have you gone mad?" Said his friend Tim "NO!! A dragon is back there! I found a cave and a dragon was in it!!" "Come on, lets take you home." Said Tim. "Fine!"

The Great Car Race

On the ninth of August 2010 Totara syndicate had the Great Car Race. They all had to be powered by one rubber band only. Every teacher from the syndicate choose two people to enter. From our class Jonathan choose Max and Bianca. (Hers was really good!) We all packed into Trinity hall in two lines with a gap for the cars. First was Cameron, then Ella T, some other people and then I could see Bianca looking very confident. She put her car down and... 13.64 meters!!! Yay! Everybody was cheering so loud! Bianca won! Yay! :) She looked embarrassed but Dave looked amazed! Kids still cheering loud.
My opinion is I thought it was a fun experience!
I learnt that you can use just one rubber band to power a whole car and how to transfer potential energy into kinetic energy.

My Birthday

On Sunday I had my 10th Birthday party. Trinity, Angel, Victoria and Frankie came to stay the night. Trinity got me a Hannah Montana pack, Angel got me a pack of envelopes and notes from Smiggle and a CD case, Victoria got me a $10 gift card for Smiggle and Frankie painted a picture of me. We stayed up until 4:44 AM but we got about 1 hr of sleep because all of us were to hypo to go to sleep! When the clock ticked to 11:59 we all started to count down then it ticked to 12:00! and we all said yay!! because I turned 10. On Monday it was my real birthday and I got a guitar from Dad, a Percy Jackson book and some pencils. My sister Amy gave me a photo album and Jodi gave me a t-shirt. We were all dizzy from all the lollies and fizzy!! After everybody left I went to get my presents from my Mum. It was the best birthday ever!!!!!!!!!!!

Current Event Mount Everest

A 13 year old boy called Jordan Romero climbed Mount Everest. Also when he was just 10 years old he climbed mount Kilimanjaro. I think it is a very big achievement and its good. He is the youngest person to climb Mount Everest. Its so cool!

My Tuesday

On Tuesday Mai and Frankie went to my house and we got the bus home and it dropped us at the 4 square. We bought lots of lollies and we went to eat them at the park across the road from my house. When we went back home Dad made us all pancakes. It was really funny because Frankie and Mai thought my house was haunted and i made noises and they got really scared!! at 6:oo they both went home. It was so fun!!!

Term Holidays

In the holidays I went fishing. We were going to go to Cable Bay to fish but as soon as we got there Dad realized that he had left the hooks on the roof so we had to go back. We saw the box they were in all smashed up and the sinkers and hooks were gone. We had to buy some more and just went fishing at the wharf and I caught 3 fish and Dad caught 1 fish, it was a great day!!

Cable Bay Camp

Last Thursday we went to Cable Bay for one night. It was so fun!! When the paintballers went off to play their game, Victoria, Trinity and I didn't go so we went on the tramp and the swing. When me and Victoria were on the swing is went up in the air and it nearly fell over!! We also had a BBQ and my dad stayed the night. Me, Victoria and Trinity couldnt get to sleep because it was so cold!!! Anyway I had such a good night!!

Hospital day

On Sunday I went to the hospital because my 3 year old sister has really bad asthma and she had a chest infection as well which made it worse. So she had to go on a oxygen mask because she couldn't breath properly. She had to take her inhaler every hour. We were there all day, she was going to stay the night but we didn't know if she was going to because we didn't have the test results yet. But in the end she didn't have to stay and we went home.

My Holiday

Hello my name is Kelle. In the holidays I went on the Ferry to Wellington for two weeks and we stayed at my Aunties for four nights. We had Christmas there then we had the rest of the nights at a four and a half star Motel called Raumati sands at Raumati beach which was close to my Uncles house. We went to Te papa and the zoo. It was the best holiday ever!
